What about an irc chat channel?

What would you guys reckon to getting on IRC and getting and irc channel setup perhaps? Would be good for real time chatting etc, I only mention this as I notice teamhost use quakenet server on irc and its actually quite useful, so I reckon it would be useful for us to have an irc chan as well like

yeh i searched on google and its some kinda chat room but thats what forums are lol.and we got a chat box for IM(for newy and the rest of you IM means instant messaging ) lol (this meens lick olivers Lolly i think)

I'm thinking it's a program or a channel like TeamSpeak or Ventrilo, but I could be mistaken..

Wooah ok, sorry I think that might show my age then lol :S IRC (which can be used via mirc (www.mirc.com)) Is a chat room program used by hundreds of thousands of people around the world, it stands for Internet Relay Chat. Tbh its quite a geeky program but its really good. You can make your own channels real easy, use bots and it can be quite fun and a much more functional chat prog than on the forums as its real time without needing refreshes etc and its completely free. There are hundreds of servers and there are alot of warez and things on certain servers I bet quite a few of you guys would find it quite interesting tbh

ahh yes i've used this before, but then my copy of mirc expired lol that would be a problem.

Would we be able to install onto forums or would it be on a seperate site / window ?

its a seperate application called mirc but you have to pay for the application and the trial is only 30days per computer.

I always thought mirc was free? It always was when I used it :S If not I have a free legit copy on my comp to send if you want it anyway (an old version which you deffo didnt need to purchase )

i use MIRC for some game in the past its kinda fail if u ask me its just a chat programme never seen any1 using a MIC it was controlled to show the community
